Underfloor

Computer server room equipment sits on a raised floor so that wires, leads and cables are safety contained below it. Dust and dirt gathers in this area and, if not cleaned regularly, can be dispersed around the room and into machines by the air conditioning system. It is essential that this underfloor area is cleaned and vacuumed regularly.

Wires, leads and especially network cables can be easily unplugged and damaged, the consequences of which are significant, therefore under floor cleaning is a very controlled and delicate procedure.

Of particlular threat to the ongoing stability of computer server rooms are zinc whiskers. Awareness of these, their containment and removal requires highly specialised cleaning techniques, which OCS are expert in.
