Bupa Care Services, one of New Zealand’s leading providers of care services, has recently awarded a 3 year contract to OCS to provide a range of facilities services to its 17 retirement villages and 46 care homes throughout New Zealand.
OCS delivers Waste Management, Pest Control, Hygiene Services, Carpet Cleaning and Secure Document Destruction service solutions that support Bupa in the delivery of high quality care home and village facilities, and in achieving its sustainability objectives.
Two examples of this are OCS divisions, WasteLine and Envirocomp, both of which deliver highly innovative approaches to waste minimisation. Envirocomp is a world-first composting solution to the incontinence waste that makes up 50% of the Bupa waste stream. WasteLine develops sustainable solutions for its clients total waste streams and manages their on-going performance. Together they provide an unrivalled approach to sustainable waste management to the aged care market.
Through the implementation of both services OCS is working with Bupa to achieve in excess of 70% diversion of waste from landfill over the course of the contract.
